I’ve never met a parent who felt that it’s been easy. So that’s to say, I’ve never met a parent who wasn’t struggling at some point; in one way or another.

You ask almost anyone and they’ll tell you parenting is hard. Most of the time they’ll say raising tiny humans is the hardest thing they’ve ever done and I’d have to agree.

Parenting is both magic and madness. It’s selfish and self-sacrificing; universal and individualized. The journey can fill you with such immense hope and somehow at the same time despair. To me, it’s the most humbling human experience there is.

Today, parenting is different than it was for our parents and their parents before them. We seem to be dealing with more infertility, pregnancy loss, globally displaced children, and rates of chronic illnesses in children and adolescence than ever before.

Most young families are now required to have a two-income household to combat economic insecurity. Leaving us with less time to hold space for our children.

Yet, even with these challenges the calling to become a parent remains persistent in the hearts of many and we shouldn’t have to choose to live an overwhelmed life when we decide we want children.

Noticeably, modern parenting is filled with numerous competing beliefs that are wrapped up in an enormous amount of bias making the terrain of parenting that much more difficult to navigate.

The feelings of incessant fear, guilt, and shame that’s been created have left many questioning what’s “mostly true” to fully inform themselves and keep their family safe.

Called to Parenthood, LLC was started with the intent to provide information in the field of parenting; for organizing, developing, and sustaining positive support among parents.

Parenthood is fulfilling, but at times can feel extremely isolating. Parents need allies. Collectively, we all deserve fewer barriers to obtaining resources for ourselves, our children, our future children, and their future children.

We hope to start the process needed for transformation. Spreading kindness, one parentfriend at a time.
